The UpStartz are Just Dance Academy’s Street Dance troupe as well as attending regular JDA classes the troupe rehearse weekly for competitions, shows and auditions. To become a member of The UpStartz you must first enrol in a weekly JDA class.

Congratulations to Molly and Joshua, you have been selected to join the Upstartz Dance Troupe. Please attend Upstartz rehearsal next week, Friday 6.30 - 7.30pm. You will be given your introduction pack at the beginning of class. If you have any questions please contact me on 07835349232.

Rules for UpStartz Troupe Members
1. Absolutely NO street shoes on studio floors.
2. No unnecessary talking.
3. Please be on time for class. All dancers must be ready to dance at the start of session so make sure you arrive 5 minutes early.
4. Remember we learn by watching, listening, and trying.
5. Do not be afraid to ask questions.
6. Always applaud at the end of rehersal for your teacher, fellow dancers, and yourself.
7. Disrespect or inappropriate behaviour toward teachers / choreographers or troupe members will not be tolerated.
8. Good sportsmanship is expected from all dancers at all performances and competitions. All UpStartz members must have their team uniform on, pay attention at all times and applaud all other performers. At no time should a dancer leave the back stage area before the award ceremony has ended.
Discipline
The following course of action will be taken with dancers who neglect to follow these policies:
1. Verbal Warning.
2. Parent meeting.
3. Non-performance status.
4. Dismissal from the Troupe.
Attendance
Each dancer is required to attend every practice. Attendance will be taken at each practice. If an absence is anticipated, please be courteous and inform the instructors. Absenteeism on 3 consecutive occasions from practice will result in non-performance status and will prohibit your advancement.
Grievances and Concerns
All questions regarding the troupe and it's program should be brought to the attention of Just Dance Academy’s Director of Dance, Laura Baldo.
